The Story Behind the "Trippin" Video

Oct 4th 2019, Nashville-based singer/songwriter known as Becoming Young (Brandon Calano) premiers his first pop single/video, “Trippin.” Stunning colors and vivid frames tell a thought-provoking tale of modern romance in this breakout video. Watch “Trippin” HERE.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Jared Januschka, “Trippin” explores the savage dating landscape of 2019. No one wants to commit to a relationship—and people hold back feelings or have multiple partners just so they don’t get too attached to any one person. Brandon reveals the ecstasy—and heartbreak—of this volatile dynamic through his deeply personal film.

“It hits close to home for me and so many people I know. It hurt to hold back my feelings for this girl I absolutely love... I was living a lie but I was scared I’d lose her if I revealed how deeply I care about her.” —Brandon Calano

“Trippin” marks a pivot from indie rock to pop for Becoming Young. Brandon self-produced/recorded this spunky summer smash in Boulder, Colorado. The music video features one of Brandon’s favorite restaurant/bars, Corrida, located on the historic Pearl Street Mall.
